Cameron Park Neighborhood Association
Getting Involved
The Cameron Park Neighborhood Association would be nothing without the involvement of our members. There are many ways to become involved to serve each other and our community. Here are just a few:
Volunteer on a committee. At any given time, we have several committees devoted to organizing events, working with the City of Waco (public safety, zoning and development concerns, streets), and more. For more information on our current committees, click here.
Serve as an Officer. Our Board of Directors consists of four volunteer officer positions, elected annually. If you have good organizational skills and a desire to serve, please let any current officer know. For information about each position and our current officers, click here.
Attend our meetings. We hold an Annual Meeting each January to elect officers. Other regular meetings are held at least once every three months, and sometimes more often when certain concerns need to be addressed. Meetings are usually attended by representatives from departments of the City of Waco. Meetings are a chance for our members both to become informed and to express their opinions. Votes are held for all important decisions taken by the Association on behalf of the neighborhood. For more information about both upcoming and past meetings, click here.
Attend service projects. From time to time, our members and their families and friends get together to perform a clean-up or other service project, whether in the neighborhood directly or in Cameron Park. We sometimes partner with the City of Waco and/or non-profit agencies such as Keep Waco Beautiful and Group W Bench Litter Patrol. For information about upcoming and past service projects, click here.
Attend social gatherings. We occasionally hold neighborhood picnics and other social gatherings, so our members and their families may get to know one another better. For information about upcoming and past social events, click here.
Attend city meetings. Our members attend City Planning Commission and City Council meetings, when their agendas include topics that interest and concern us, to make our voices heard. To learn more about this process, including information about past and upcoming meetings, click here.
